Warm Springs Golf Course is located near Downtown Boise in East Boise. This par 72 course sits on the Boise River with the Boise River Greenbelt running through it. Like most golf courses in Boise, you may see wildlife from time to time. If you are just starting off, Warm Springs is a great course. Its wide geography is great for players with a high handicap. The longest course in Boise is Crane Creek Country Club. This is a private course so make friends or buy a membership. Located in the Highlands, this par 72 course is very unique. Crane Creek Golf Club is a Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary, which means the club is dedicated to the preservation of wildlife.  Shadow Valley Golf Course

Want diversity in holes, come to Shadow Valley Golf Course. The front nine and the back nine look nothing alike and will keep you on your toes. The front nine is fast, like a links course. The back nine is angles and corners. You need to know how far you hit the ball with each club or you’ll be in the weeds. The River Club

The River Club, formally known as Plantation Golf Course,  is the oldest club in Southern Idaho. Alongside the Plantation community and Downtown Boise, this par 71 is short and flat. Mostly par 3s, but you have an opportunity for long balls on the par 4s and 5s. The course sits alongside State Street, so there is traffic noise. This is a fast-paced course. Learn more here.

Hillcrest Country Club

So you want to join a club. Hillcrest Country Club is high up on our list. The fairways are immaculate, the greens are perfect, and the staff might give you a tip or two. That said, this one is tough. The holes are not directly straight, making you work for the greens. Trees line the fairways, the green speed is 10.0 and 11.0, and a slope rating of 130.
